Namibia In A Nutshell

Coined as the land of wide and open spaces or, sometimes as “Africa’s gem”, Namibia is a large country even by African standards with a surface area of approximately 824,000 km². Namibia is one of the least densely populated countries in the world (2.5 inhabitants per square kilometre (6.5 /sq mile).

Namibia is made up of beautiful and contrasting landscapes varying from the central plateau, escarpment and desert to the bushveld and savannah, creating otherworldly environments in which a diversity of flora and fauna have adapted to and thrive in.

The most visited places includer Sossusvlei and Sesriem, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay and the Skeleton Coast, Lüderitz, Kolmanskop and the Fish River Canyon and the Etosha Pan, to name a few.

Namibia generally attracts tourists with the majority visiting to experience the different climates and natural geographical landscapes.

Sossusvlei – Namib Desert

Sossusvlei is a perfect example of Nambia's unspoilt desert beauty. This photogenic area is famous for its large, red sand dunes, which are some of the tallest sand dunes in the world and is one of Namibia's most visited attractions.

The excursion starts in Windhoek, travels south on the B1 road and takes you past the Tropic of Capricorn, via Solitaire and towards the renowned Sossusvlei area.

Swakopmund and Walvis Bay Coastal

This coastal area of Namibia is one of the most visited tourism hubs of the country. Swakopmund is situated in the Namib Desert and is the fourth largest population centre in Namibia.

It is a beach resort and an example of old German colonial architecture. It was founded in 1892 as the main harbour for German South West Africa.

Etosha Wildlife and Nature

The excursion starts in Windhoek, travels north on the B1 road and takes you to one of the 2 main gates of the Etosha National Park, namely Namutoni or Okaukeujo.

Accommodation is inside the park (Namibia Wildlife Resorts) or at any of the available lodges situated outside the gates (such as Mokuti Lodge or Etosha Safari Camp).

Classic Namibia (15 days - 14 nights)

The classic tour of Namibia covers the main highlights for which the country is known including Sossusvlei, Fish River Canyon and Etosha National Park. This itinerary can be adjusted as required by guests to either exclude some spots or include others not mentioned here.

Desert Delta (15 days, 14 nights)

A typical Desert to Delta tour starting in Namibia will cover the main highlights for which this part of the sub-region is popular including Sossusvlei, Etosha National Park, Caprivi Strip, Okavango Delta and Victoria Falls.

This itinerary can be adjusted as required by guests to either exclude some spots or include others not mentioned here.

The Team

We can request the services of many competent and knowledgeable guides in Namibia. One of the many freelance guides that can accompany guests is Francis, who was born in Namibia and has an excellent understanding of the history, culture and socio-economic background of his home.

He studied Tourism Management and worked for many years in the Hospitality & Tourism sector. He has been a tour guide since 2008, accompanying guests throughout Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
