Classic Namibia

15 days 14 nights

The classic tour of Namibia covers the main highlights for which the country is known including Sossusvlei, Fish River Canyon and Etosha National Park.

This itinerary can be adjusted as required by guests to either exclude some spots or include others not mentioned here.

  1. Day 1 Arrival in Windhoek

    Arrival in Windhoek, customs clearance, meet & greet at airport and transfer to first accommodation in or around the city (alternatively, transfer directly to first lodge accommodation) on the itinerary. Check-in and choice of activities depending on arrival time. Dinner at Lodge or Hotel

  2. Day 2 Departure into the Kalahari Desert

    Departure into the Kalahari Desert, south of the capital. The Kalahari Desert is a large semi-arid sandy savanna in Southern Africa extending for 900,000km² and has vast areas covered by red sand without any permanent surface water. 1-night accommodation at Bagatelle Kalahari Game Lodge or similar. Lunch en-route; Basis: DBB

    Possible activities: afternoon of relaxation or feeding cheetahs or excursion with Bushmen (San) or game drive.

  3. Day 3 Departure to Fish River Canyon

    Departure to Fish River Canyon, the largest canyon in Africa, as well as the second largest in the world. 1-night accommodation at Canyon Lodge or similar. Lunch en-route; Basis: DBB

    Possible activities: Visit Fish River Canyon or Quiver Tree Forest on the way.

  4. Day 4 Drive to Klein Aus Vista

    Drive to Klein Aus Vista, nestled in the granite-gneiss hills, and the area where the Namib Desert begins to merge with golden grasses, and where wild horses roam free and people once gathered with diamond dreams. 2-night accommodation at Klein Aus Vista or similar. Lunch en-route; Basis: DBB

  5. Day 5 Klein Aus Vista

    Possible activities: Visit Lüderitz Harbor Town and Kolmanskop Ghost Town

  6. Day 6 Drive to Neuras Wine & Wildlife Estate

    Drive to Neuras Wine & Wildlife Estate. (optional) 1-night accommodation at Neuras Wildlife Estate. Lunch en-route; Basis: DBB

    Possible activities: Wine tasting and vineyard visit.

  7. Day 7 Drive to Sossusvlei

    Drive to Sossusvlei area in the Namib Sand Sea World Heritage site. Situated in the largest conservation area in Africa (the Namib-Naukluft National Park), Sossusvlei is possibly Namibia’s most spectacular and best-known attraction, characterised by the large red dunes, a large, white, salt and clay pan and the dunes are some of the highest in the world, reaching almost 400 meters. 2-night accommodation at Sossusvlei Lodge or similar. Lunch en-route; Basis: DBB

  8. Day 8 Sossusvlei Excursion

    Possible activities: Sossusvlei excursion, including Deadvlei and Sesriem Canyon.

  9. Day 9 Depart for Swakopmund

    Depart for Swakopmund, a town on the west coast of Namibia. The name is German for "Mouth of the Swakop"(River). Swakopmund is a beach resort and an example of German colonial architecture. It was founded in 1892. 2-night accommodation at Atlantic Garden Boutique Hotel or similar. Lunch en-route; dinner in town; Basis: BB.

  10. Day 10 Swakopmund

    Possible activities: Sandwich Harbour Excursion, Wetlands Lagoon, Helicopter or Scenic Flight, Boat cruises

  11. Day 11 Drive to Brandberg

    Drive to Brandberg, Namibia’s highest Mountain, in Damaraland, part of the Kunene Region in the north-west of Namibia and located between the Brandberg and Sesfontein. It is characterised by its rocky and rugged landscapes of rough, fascinating beauty. 1-night accommodation at Brandberg White Lady or similar. Lunch en-route; Basis: DBB

    Possible activities: Hike to White Lady Paintings, Desert Elephant game drive

  12. Day 12 Drive to Etosha National Park

    Drive to Etosha National Park, where the Etosha Pan is a vast ancient lake turned salt pan that covers around 4,800km², almost a quarter of the park. At 130 km long and up to 50km wide in places, it is comfortably the largest salt pan in Africa and is visible even from space. 2-night accommodation Etosha Safari or NWR Oakukeujo or similar. Lunch en-route; Basis: DBB

  13. Day 13 Etosha National Park

    Possible activities: Full day game drive in the park

  14. Day 14 Return to Windhoek

    Return to Windhoek for last night. 1-night accommodation Onjala Lodge or similar. Lunch en-route; Basis: DBB

    Possible activities: Souvenir shopping in city or Stargazing at the lodge

  15. Day 15 Departure

    After breakfast, transfer to Hosea Kutako International Airport for return flight
