Sossusvlei – Namib Desert

3 days 2 nights

Sossusvlei is a perfect example of Nambia's unspoilt desert beauty. This photogenic area is famous for its large, red sand dunes, which are some of the tallest sand dunes in the world and is one of Namibia's most visited attractions.

The excursion starts in Windhoek, travels south on the B1 road and takes you past the Tropic of Capricorn, via Solitaire and towards the renowned Sossusvlei area. Highlights include Big Daddy, Deadvlei, Sossusvlei, Dune 45 and Sesriem Canyon.

Accommodation can be booked at one of the lodges in the surrounding area according to your preference.

  1. Day 1 Departure from destination point e.g. Windhoek

    Check-in and choice of activities depending on arrival time, e.g. Sundowner or afternoon drive.
    Lunch en route; Dinner at Lodge

  2. Day 2 Full day excursion

    Dawn departure from camp/lodge to arrive at the park gate for sunrise. The drive takes you down an ancient river bed surrounded by towering dunes, around 55kms. Beyond the parking area, the area can be explored on foot before heading into Dead Vlei with its large expanse of bleached cracked clay and skeletal camel thorn trees. Stop at the famous Dune 45 on return; return to Sesriem and visit the nearby Sesriem Canyon.
    Return to lodge for sundowner and evening dinner.

  3. Day 3 Return to destination of origin

    Early morning breakfast before heading to Solitaire for short break. We return to Windhoek via the Naukluft Mountains and Rehoboth.
